1960

Racial Riot Outbreak

Rumours that both Imam and Bilal of the mosque were killed in Joo Chiat during the racial riots. This was due to the strategic location of the mosque in the heartlands of the Malays and Chinese. Announcement made on radio that they were safe to reassure the community.
1940

World War II Survival

The mosque survived World War II. Mosque was managed by the Muslim Trust Fund Association (MFTA).
1917

The First Imam

First Imam was Almarhum Syeikh Osman bin Syaikh Omar AlGanus, an Arab from Palembang. First Bilal was Ustaz Hussein who took over as the 2nd imam after Syeikh Osman.

The Owner

The premise was originally a bungalow owned by Haji Abdul Khalid Bin Haji Mohamed Tyeb
